I've tried putting in the pop3 and the smtp #'s but still can't get it to work, can anyone help me with this, i need to scan documents and email them but dont want to go through the hassle of opening my own personal mail so we wanted to use Windows Live email as default, but can't seem to get it working. Can anyone help?

For yahoo mail you need upgrade to yahoo mail plus (@ $19.99 per year).to get the full pop3 service for access to Outlook,Incredimail, Thunderbird and others.

There is a free program called "YPOPS" it's not approved by yahoo and is not fully compatible some users can get it to work but most can't.
If you have “yahoo.co.uk” address some users can get free pop forwarding see below.
Click “options” (top right) on your mail page%26gt;mail options%26gt;pop and forwarding%26gt;
Set up or edit pop %26amp; forwarding%26gt;type in the address you want to forward to and
click save.
* Incoming mail server (POP3): pop.mail.yahoo.co.uk
Use SSL, port: 995

Use SSL, port: 465.
Note: In order to be able to send emails from outlook and others through/to yahoo (pop3) you need to pay for a yahoo mail plus account. @ £11.99 per year.

Hotmail changed to Windows Live Mail overnight??
Has anybody else's Hotmaill also changed into Windows Live Mail overnight and now you cannot change it back to the old Hotmail?? Is it permanent now?? No more good old Hotmail??

Yep. The Man wins again. I kept my email with the "classic" view set up, because the new "Windows Live" sucks. Not that I'm plugging Yahoo or anything, but their beta system is much better.

Microsoft is revamping their websites. They are going to push Vista as well as advertising their Windows Live softwares. The change to Hotmail is just to accomodate their Windows Live Messenger 8.5 which supports new features.
Reply:The hotmail service, provided free by microsoft, has merged with Windows live mail. You can recieve email as you always have through Windows Live Mail, but you can also use ww.hotmail.com. The later allows for you to store your emails in the same fashion as POP email. Hotmail stores everything on their own server.

Look on the brightside: Windows Live Mail is still better. First of all, Windows Live Hotmail has a storage of 5 gigabytes and made to be faster. It even integrates to most Windows Live services now: Windows Live Messenger, Spaces, Calendar and Contacts! That's not bad.
Unlike the old-ish Hotmail, there's spell check and security.
Like I said, you can use the classic interface but you know how it would end up: it'll be permanent. It's the future.

I'm trying to make a new Windows Live ID with @hotmail.com at the end, but it the only option is hotmail.co.uk?
My current hotmail addy doesn't work so I decided to make a new one. So I went to the Windows Live Sign Up page, and where it says *Windows Live ID in the drop-down menu thingy it has live.co.uk and hotmail.co.uk, even though I live in Australia... it happened last time too. I changed my country to Australia but it still doesn't work... the page i'm on is [https://signup.live.com/signup.aspx?mkt=... So it's american cos of the .com but it still says .co.uk! I dont want people to think im from freakinnng england... help!

For some reason i am unable to synchonize my messages with windows live mail, i get the following error:

Yahoo is still having some problems at the moment. Suggested cures range from Update Adobe Flash Player and Java script to clear IE7 cache, cookies, and browsing history. Different things seem to work for different people. It's causing attachments to not show, 999 errors where it won't let you do a particular action and some people cannot send receive delete or move mail. It's not just Vista either it's happening to some of us on XP. If all else fails go back to classic mail via this link. http://us.mg1.mail.yahoo.com/dc/optout?s... click yes when asked do you want to opt out. Hope this helps.

ever since hotmail switched it's look (a few months ago?) to this windows live i can't get at my e-mail over half the time... my address bar just cycles thru the same three or four http's... it's hit or miss if i can actually get to my mail... it's not my primary e-dress but i've had it for a long time and it's useful to me... IF I COULD ACCESS IT!!! this happens at different locations from korea to australia to california to wisconsin so it's not my ip.

Hehe I had the same problem. I managed to get StuffPlug 3 to work with WLM 8.5 using the method in this post:
