Hotmail changed to Windows Live Mail overnight??

Has anybody else's Hotmaill also changed into Windows Live Mail overnight and now you cannot change it back to the old Hotmail?? Is it permanent now?? No more good old Hotmail??

Yep. The Man wins again. I kept my email with the "classic" view set up, because the new "Windows Live" sucks. Not that I'm plugging Yahoo or anything, but their beta system is much better.

Reply:In fact, the change has already taken place on Monday. Seems like you havent been visiting Hotmail for quite sometime now.





Microsoft is revamping their websites. They are going to push Vista as well as advertising their Windows Live softwares. The change to Hotmail is just to accomodate their Windows Live Messenger 8.5 which supports new features.
Reply:The hotmail service, provided free by microsoft, has merged with Windows live mail. You can recieve email as you always have through Windows Live Mail, but you can also use ww.hotmail.com. The later allows for you to store your emails in the same fashion as POP email. Hotmail stores everything on their own server.

Reply:Apparently, Hotmail had already been rebranded to Windows Live Hotmail earlier this month, NOT Windows Live Mail. Windows Live got Hotmail from MSN.





However, it does not mean everybody can not use the classic interface of Hotmail. You could just click on options and change the preferences.





Look on the brightside: Windows Live Mail is still better. First of all, Windows Live Hotmail has a storage of 5 gigabytes and made to be faster. It even integrates to most Windows Live services now: Windows Live Messenger, Spaces, Calendar and Contacts! That's not bad.





Unlike the old-ish Hotmail, there's spell check and security.





Like I said, you can use the classic interface but you know how it would end up: it'll be permanent. It's the future.

Yeh, Hotmail has turned into Windows Live Mail... It wasn't instant there was a BETA stage and they decided to make it permanent... sorry :(
